MEET OUR STAFF

AMY BAUM - PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Amy has been involved with CASA of Jefferson County since fall 2013 and became the Program Director in January 2014.

Fun fact:  Amy has been involved with Girl Scouts for the last 15 years with her three daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, four kids and the family dog.

I am passionate about the CASA program and the work our volunteers do with the children.  Our volunteers are some of the most amazingly giving and compassionate people I have ever had the privilege of working with.  They have a true desire to help abused and neglected children and to be involved in their lives.  It really is true that one caring, consistent and compassionate person can make a difference in a child’s life.  I am honored to be able to offer this opportunity to touch the life of a child in need of a voice.

ALICIA KNICKMAN - OPERATIONS MANAGER

Alicia started with CASA in August of 2015 as the part-time Operations Manager after a 13 year career in management at a large credit union. She's responsible for the organizational and financial side of the program and enjoys the fact that she can put her past business experience to work in a non-profit setting.

Fun fact: Alicia loves the ocean but won't get in if she sees a fish!

What I love most about my position is that I can help create a framework to support the incredible volunteer staff that we have and enable them to help as many children as possible.  My goal is to grow the program so that we are able to provide a CASA volunteer to every child in foster care in Jefferson County.

MARTIENNE COTTER - VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Martienne started with CASA in early 2014 as a volunteer. Her passion for kids has lead her to become our very first Volunteer Coordinator as of April 1, 2016. In this role, she is responsible for supporting CASA Volunteers through supervision and case coordination.

Fun fact: Martienne can write in cursive backwards.

I’ve always said that I don’t care how long I live or what things I have. All that matters to me is that throughout my life I have done my part to make this world a better place. As a CASA volunteer, I was very happy to know I was helping to improve the lives of the foster children for whom I was advocating. As a Volunteer Coordinator, I know that I have the capability of teaching many other people to make a difference, which can have a monumental impact. Perhaps I can spread my passion like wildfire. For this, I am honored to work for Jefferson County CASA!

CHRISTINA BIER - VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Christina became a welcome addition to our team as a Volunteer Coordinator in April 2017.

Fun fact: Christina is actively involved in her son's football team.

Jefferson County CASA has given me the opportunity to work with a group of genuinely kind, caring and generous volunteers. Together we can continue to have a positive impact and make a significant difference in the lives of children in the Jefferson County Foster Care system. I believe we have a responsibility to help others whenever possible, and being a part of CASA allows me the privilege of doing this every day.
