marita Anne marrah
Endowment Fund

Many people who are familiar with our program remember our former board member Sister Marita Anne Marrah.  If you don’t, she was a tiny little nun who was truly the heart and soul of our organization.  We lost her in July of 2021 at the age of 87 and she has left a hole that we will never be able to fill.  She was one of the most feisty, competitive, caring, and dedicated people you could ever hope to know.  We called her “the little nun who could” because it never occurred to her that there was anything she couldn’t do if she set her mind to it.  This program was incredibly important to her and she dedicated her entire life to helping children in need.  Although she isn’t with us anymore, she lives on in our hearts and her fierce determination motivates us to work hard to grow this program and make her dream of serving all children in need a reality.

For those of us who saw her regularly, she never came to a meeting or gathering without an envelope of donations she had gathered because helping our program become financially stable was vital to her mission. Fortunately, through an incredibly generous donation, we have been gifted a way to ensure that her legacy lives on in a way that would have been most important to Marita Anne.  Thanks to our board treasurer Sara Govero and her family, we are so pleased to announce the Marita Anne Marrah Endowment Fund.
